RECREATING LIFE PATTERNS

Frequently Asked Questions

The life that you KNOW you are capable of.

“I’m really interested in Recreating Life Patterns, but I’ve just got a few hesitations about whether it will work for me...”

We get it – the thought of investing in another program can be TERRIFYING. Maybe you have done counselling or other “self-improvement” courses before and they haven’t made much of a difference in your life… so naturally, why would Recreating Life Patterns be any different? If the doubt is weighing you down and forcing you to hunch over your laptop and question EVERYTHING (including yourself)... Keep reading, ‘cause we’re going to address those doubts head-on.

Below are the most common questions folks just like you have about Recreating Life Patterns.

Don't see your question listed here, or still need more details? No worries. Just click here to send us an email and we'll connect with you to make sure you all the information YOU need to make the best choice for YOU.

Q1. Yeah, I know I’ve got some stuff to deal with, but I don’t need counselling, therapy, or some self-help course. I’ll get it figured out on my own.

Some of you might be coming in looking for maintenance and a tune-up, rather than rebuilding the engine. Awesome. We know that everything is smoother and more reliable when you pay attention to what upgrades or repairs are needed BEFORE they become a big problem. Don’t ignore the check engine light!

How long have you been trying to “figure it out” yourself? How far have you gotten? Sure, you *could* keep circling the block and hoping that you eventually make it to where you want to go. OR, you could just fire up the GPS right now and follow it’s directions for the quickest route.

Think of Recreating Life Patterns as the most efficient shortcut to the life that you imagine.

Q2. Every time I try something that promises change, it kills my hope that there will ever be something that will work for me.

We’re going to keep it real here: There are no guarantees. There is no one thing that is going to work for everybody. Recreating Life Patterns tends to be helpful for people who are really looking for the “HOW do I do this?” People who are aware of what’s not working and feeling at a loss for how to change it.

Ultimately, only you can decide if Recreating Life Patterns is worth giving a shot. It’s not going to be a magic wand. You will come away with a better understanding of why you do what you do, with tangible tools and a roadmap for change.

Q3. I’m not comfortable sharing in a group. I don’t want strangers knowing my business.

Ultimately it’s up to you what you do and do not share in the workshop. Creating a safe and non-judgmental environment requires that everyone in the group participate and hold space for each other.

Most participants feel more comfortable sharing than they had anticipated. As everyone shares, you get to see how similar we all are. You learn from each other’s experiences and insights, and begin to write the next chapter of your stories together.

Note: For those who are not comfortable participating in a group, private workshops are available.

Q4. I don’t want to be exposed and judged for all of my mistakes.

The beautiful thing about being human is that once you’re in a space together with other people, you quickly realize that everybody shares the same struggles, and we’re actually all in this together. There is no judgment. One of the things that makes Recreating Life Patterns unique is that we’re not going to hash through all of the old crap. All the garbage, all the pain... We’re not doing that.

We’re looking at how to move forward. Everybody struggles with the same stuff. In our shame and our guilt, we think that we are alone in it. We’re not. You’re not. When we acknowledge our “stuff” out loud, we take away its power over us. We release it to move forward with our lives.

“More effective than four years of therapy… and way more fun!”

BONUS QUESTION: Where did this program come from and who teaches it?

Recreating Life Patterns was originally created by Andrew Louisy to help individuals break away from sabotage and denial behaviours and build a solid foundation for life that has them on a continuous path of growth, success, and connection in alignment with their heart’s desires.

For over 35 years, Andrew has guided people to fully recover from seemingly impossible challenges. He has utilized the tools from Recreating Life Patterns to help over a thousand clients transform their lives, heal their relationships and families, recover from addiction, abuse, and trauma, and most of all, let go of the self-defeating patterns that keep them trapped in cycles of futility.

Andrew has trained with renowned healers in Saint Lucia, Thailand, and beyond, and seamlessly blends traditional and Western approaches for multi-dimensional healing customized to the individual. Andrew’s ability to read the truth of a person, beyond their denials and distractions, provides the roadmap to their heart’s desires, so he can guide them to imagine a reality of who they are in their highest potential.

Since it's creation over a decade ago, the Recreating Life Patterns program has been continuously adapted and updated by lead instructor Erin Kapela, and a highly trained teaching team.

Erin is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who has been working with Andrew since 2009 and is grateful to have the Recreating Life Patterns program as a personal and professional foundation for life. Erin's therapeutic framework is grounded in the values of intergenerational healing, community-building, accountability, courage, and dignity. Dignity-informed care calls us to go beyond the acknowledgement of trauma and harm and instead center the dignity of people within the fullness of who they are, where they come from, and the path they are walking.

Erin's training comes from universities, seminars, and on the job training with traditional healers, Elders, knowledge keepers, and mental health clinicians, as well front-line outreach and harm reduction work with marginalized community members. She walks with an awareness of the ongoing struggles related to systemic and colonial oppression and her therapeutic framework is grounded in the values of intergenerational healing, community building, accountability, and courage.

As a workshop instructor, Erin has a gift for quickly getting to the heart of a challenge and shining a light on participants' core values, strengths, and desires to help them create a road map for success – and laugh at the detours.
